Power/Thermal
Use the SOLIS Power/Thermal page to configure power modeling, with the option of including thermal dependencies for power collection. There are four components to power modeling, each with its own tab:
SOLIS will continue to run for all power conditions, including zero state of charge and zero voltage. Error messages and warnings are not displayed, so you must monitor the state of charge constraints to determine if the spacecraft power system constraints are violated.
Parameter glossary
Parameter | Description | Units |
---|---|---|
Thermal Modeling | Enables the Thermal Modeling tab as well as additional parameters for solar cells. Clearing this check box will delete all existing data on the Thermal tab and all but one entry for solar cells with temperature-dependent efficiency. |
N/A |
Solar Flux At One AU | Sets the baseline solar flux at 1 AU. The value used for power calculations is scaled based on this parameter and the distance of the spacecraft from the sun. | W/m2 |
IR/Albedo Effects | Enables IR/Albedo effects for power and thermal calculations. | N/A |
Central Body IR Flux | This is the IR Flux coming from central body. It defaults to a typical value for earth. | W/m2 |
Central Body Albedo | This is the albedo factor for a central body. It defaults to a typical value for earth. | 0 to 1 |
